cLepto-bass Posted May 21, 2009 Share Posted May 21, 2009 I have for sale my EHX LPB 2ube valve pre-amp/distortion pedal. This really is an awesome piece of kit, for the first 3 months i used this as a valve pre-amp with which to do some recording with and sounded utterly fab. It boosts the signal and gives it a certain 'sparkle' and 'zing' that can get easily lost when recording straight into a computer. For this applicaton it is so simple to use. Then i read about 'ganging' up the I/O to double to amount of gain and use it as a distortion pedal and it is then that this pedal blew me away. For live work, plugged straight into an amp is is truely thunderus, and can help a transister amp sound like it has more life to it. Think, anything that Steve Albini has produced and you will know what i mean, Shellac, Jesus Lizard etc. And because this pedal is full band width you dont lose any of the bottom end and sometimes gets lost with bass distortion pedals. This thing played with a P bass and a pick sounds absolutley awesome.
