The Red Carbon effect pickguard is a vinyl wrap, that can easily be removed, but IMHO it looks much better than the white it comes with. Not many black ones around, but I also have the Sea Foam green version that's going nowhere, well actually it's coming to Valencia with me. It's a cracking bass and punches way above it's weight. Incidentally, when weighed using luggage scales, the heaviest reading was 7.5lbs. Any questions, just ask.
