Pow_22
Trying to get into my walkbaout head to give the volume pot a blast of deoxit and the screws appear to be made from cheese?!?! Any turn of the screwdriver just seems to mash the crosshead up. When i eventually get them all out im looking to replace them with something with a bit more backbone. Does anyone know if these little black screws are of a standard size so i can just pick some u from a DIY shop or are they 'mesa specific' as it were? Captain Rumble
I am about to order these screws from the USA as they are not available here, they are 8 - 32 unc undercut countersunk flathead screws 1/4 inch long. I will probably order a box full as delivery is about 3 times the cost of the screws they are also used on the M Pulse 600 so might be able to help you out if you lose any. Just a thought but have you tried placing the screwdriver in the screw and giving it a sharp tap followed by trying to tighten rather than loosening just a little you only want to feel it move very slightly then go for loosening. Also worth noting that I think these are Philips as opposed to posidrive and the correct driver needs to be used to give you the best chance.
