Seymour Duncan jazz bass pickup query

Specifically those with allen key adjustable pole pieces. I see them crop up for sale from time to time at reasonable prices but can't find out anything about them.

A long discontinued model I presume but what were they like and what model were they?

Anyone got any ideas? just wondering whether they're worth a punt.

I’ve never known of a SD jazz pup with Allen key pole pieces, only DiMarzio jazz and P bass pups.

I strongly suspect it's just the pickup cover that's SD, not the pickup. To my knowledge SD use rod magnets not ceramic bars. Not claiming expert status though.

 

Overall, I don't recall them using adjustable pole pieces in their bass pickups.

Thanks, I think you're both probably right. I've never seen an SD like this hence my query.

This is the second one I have seen for sale recently but on reflection maybe it was a different advert for the same one.

The seller is also including a blank pickup cover, most likely the original one. Red flags all over really.
