Mesa Walkabout start up issue

Bit of a strange 'fault' has appeared with my walkabout head.  When i first power on and after the 'click' that means its been through its power up procedure the amp has little volume and what is there is very fuzzy.  I have to move the volume knob a few times before it booms into life.  Obvious thing i though was a good pot clean so i blasted it with some electrical contact cleaner and gave the pot a few spins but the issue seems to remain.  Short of a new pot is there anything obvious i could be missing here?  Once its fired up after the above issue it is faultless in operation

Shove a plug in and out the FX send and return sockets in the back of the amp a few times. The plugs can have problems if they're not used regularly (oxidisation I think) and that will clean them.

To end this sordid tale…. @wateroftyne was right. A spirtz of contact cleaner, wire straw brush and a good clean of the effects loop and jobs a good un. Leave this here for any future Mesa players with similar issues 👍
