stevecullen
Hi Just taken delivery of a Mesa Subway 2x10 cab and cannot figure out the Speakon panel wiring on the cab. If I connect a standard NL 4 (in two wire config) from either amp output to the Speakon panel mount on the cab I cannot get an output into the 8 ohm input socket, but I do get an output into the 'paralleled out' right hand connector using the same cable. If I connect either amp NL 4 output via a NL 4 to 1/4'' cable into the 8 ohm input socket I get an output. I've tried swapping the conductors around on both ends, one end, to the other unused connections on the cable NL 4's to no avail. I'm trying to run the amp speakon to cab speaker with a 15'' sub extension with a 1/4'' input which I can do but not using either Speakons on the cab but relying on the combo function of the panel NL 4's. Anyone any ideas?
abarson
From the Subway TT-800 manual, which is consistent across all their amps: "If using cables with NL-4 connectors, they may be constructed with standard 2 wire cable which must be wired 1+ to 1+ and 1- to 1-." Although Mesa Boogie QA is very high, it is possible that something isn't right with the cab's wiring. I'd reach out to their customer support immediately if it's not a cable issue. stevecullen
Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I've been in touch with them and they have acted promptly, sending a replacement panel connector for the 8 Ohm input. Would not have believed it from them. Part shipped from California to Scotland....might get it by September
