Heheh. Thanks guys. It is all happening quickly at this point!

You can see here that the boarding is finished. This is then sheeted by two staggered layers of plasterboard:

And a closeup:

And once all the boarding is done and we have filled the edges with acoustic sealant we have an airtight room:

[er... save for that 10 foot high hole in the back wall!]

You can see from the above picture that work has also started on the rear wall absorber. I'm not showing pictures of the membranes at Thomas's request but you can here see the absorption materials

As you can see from this picture, the back wall is all but finished now save for that massive hole on the left, the fitting of the diffusors and the fitting of the fabric.

Today, the electricians are in for first fix.

So, we spent the day today doing the first fix in the control room. Here's my spark hard at it putting in lighting runs (sorry, crappy iphone picture):

Thomas arrived Sunday and the guys got on with building the soffit mounts and front wall today:

They were looking pretty happy by lunchtime:

and were already working on the other side when I decided I better start stripping down the old control room ready for the big move:

I think it's a bit of both. The outer walls left and right should be straight vertical so any distortion can be measured from that. To me the frame work has more curvature than I would expect when compared to the walls.

BTW it's not fish-eye at all just the poor quality of lenses that come with the cheaper cameras and on mobile phones. I spend a good proportion of my time in Photoshop correcting for this kind of thing because the client is too cheap to use a decent camera or get a proper photographer but still wants all the straight lines on their products to look straight in the photos used in their literature and website.

I wondered why all your artwork and posters looked so good! You do it for a bloody job! That's cheating [/derail]

It's not a fish eye lens (but is a wide angle) but the main thing you are seeing is some pretty crazy angles in the woodwork. I'll try and get a shot that shows you a bit more clearly.

There's not much in there that's not a 'really weird shape', methinks...
(Not sure whether to include in this remark the folks we see in the pics, or not. Hmmm... )

Heheh

This may be another explanation for what you see:

I think my eyes must be weird. They look straight to me

More front wall action. The cavities underneath the speaker boxes will house the remote amps:

Hehe. Settle down in the cheap seats! Sparky in again today running cables for the front wall and sorting out the power to the machine room. Here's a view across the control room:
