Today I probably got over excited as we broke through the wall to join my two buildings together. Rather later than I'd hoped (because it took a considerable amount of time for ADT to get their act together and extend the alarm system) but break through we did.

I'm sure how absolutely cool this moment doesn't translate as all you see is a pile of rubble and a hole in a wall but here it is from the control room side:

and from the corridor side:

In much more exciting news though (he joked)...

...lots more homatherm went into the building:

(It amazes me after all the insulation that has gone into this room that there is any room left at all!)

Complicated question for all sorts of reasons which I won't explain here but we will be ready!

An exciting day today as our custom monitors arrived... from ATC:

As you can see from the label these are based on the SCM 110 ASL:

The difference from the standard 110ASL is obvious from this photo:

As you can see, the front wall of the cabinet has been designed to have the same slope as the front wall of the control room. Our designer, Thomas Jouan-jean at Northward Acoustics (in case you had missed that) provided a spec for the needs of the room and ATC calculated the ideal cabinet size/volume etc for our needs.

There are some days that life feels really good. This is one of 'em!

Glad you like 'em guys!

Here's a shot of the room from another angle. You can see that the place we broke through the wall has now been tidied up and lintels fitted. You can also see the cable troughs on the ground which will run around the edge of the desk and back to the racks at either side.

Electrician will be in all weekend. On Monday we start work on the front wall.

A couple of better shots of the soundlock. Approximate dimensions are 6ft x 7ft so big enough to shove an amp or even a vocalist in at a push. First shot is from the corridor into the soundlock (and you can see on into the big room):

Second shot is from the other direction, the live room into the sound lock and on into the corridor. You can also see straight into the door of one of the other rooms:

Some not very exciting stuff happened today so I decided to see what the control room would look like in context. I moved in a couch and a couple of lamps:

Conclusion? I need a bigger couch!

Once I'd had my excitement, I painted while the electrician wired stuff. Here's a picture of a not very exciting distribution board for clean power:

<div>hahah! &nbsp;Hope it gave you as much of a laugh as it gave me! &nbsp;Here&#39;s where they go to today: &nbsp;</div>

<div>Its very close now. &nbsp; Our facing wood arrives Friday and electrics should be finished at the weekend. &nbsp;we can start moving gear in then. &nbsp;Unfortunately the front glass is gonna be a couple of weeks more because we plan to template and order it once the front wall is complete. &nbsp; As you can see it&#39;s quite a complex shape so we decided it was safer that way.</div>

eek! Dont even joke. I have nightmares about this stuff!

Yes, the glass will be I shaped but also has roughly a 30 degree angle in one direction and a 7 degree angle in another...!
