SurroundedByManatees
Anyone recognizes this pickup? It came to me in a Nate Mendel. It's clearly not the OBP-3 that should be in there, but I have no idea what this replacement is.
Sparky Mark
Pretty sure it's a genuine Fender pickup. The cloth wires, raised pole pieces, the small circular indent between the two centre pole pieces and brass plate look like Fender CS 62P to me. Geek99
Agree. I had one. are there any codes on the top of the bobbin? Ie under the black covers next to the pole pieces ?
tauzero
Wouldn't a genuine Fender one have date stamps on the bottom?
Geek99
Mine had only bobbin codes they were geddy lee pickups Edited July 14 by Geek99

There's loads of photos online of the CS 62P pups with plain black undersides. See Thomann for instance.
SurroundedByManatees
Thanks for all the responses, they are very helpful. I haven't checked the top of the bobbins, I'll see if they say anything.

Geek99
Perhaps from a pre 2012 US FENDER before they added CS pups? Therefore no markings

The OBP-3 is a preamp made by Aguilar, not a pickup. 😉
