StickyDBRmf Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 An answer to another post, but, for myself, as a bassist, and a Stickist, the guitar I want to grab when I grab a guitar is...A Stratocaster. I don't have to add any qualifications as to why. At this point. So, what is it, girls & boys, when you reach for a six string - the guitar - the one. Answer the question Quote
Lozz196 Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 A Strat, they’re the guitars I play best, but has to have a humbucker in the bridge. Quote
kodiakblair Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 No idea how to play a guitar but I'd love one like this. Quote
Dad3353 Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 (edited) I have many guitars (and basses, and drums...), but this is my finest 6-string, for me, with a long history. Edited July 15, 2024 by Dad3353 5 Quote
Barking Spiders Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 (edited) I have several guitars including an Epiphone Sheraton but if I had the money my #1 choice would be... Edited July 15, 2024 by Barking Spiders 4 Quote
OliverBlackman Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 I find the Strat easiest to play. Yet to try a Gibson of any kind though Quote
Newfoundfreedom Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 Les Paul for me. There's something comforting and familiar about the weight and bulk. 2 Quote

Bleat Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 If I picked up a guitar I would have to take a bath in bleach straight after as I would just feel so... dirty. 3 Quote

Skybone Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 I'd be between a Les Paul or an SG. However, I own 2 Ibanez Iceman (Icemen? Though one's been commandeered by my son). https://ibanez.fandom.com/wiki/File:2006_IC400_BK.jpg 1 Quote
Rosie C Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 Gibson SG for me. In red, of course. My budget didn't stretch to a genuine Gibson though, and anyway I had it chopped around to mandolin tuning. I can play 6-string, but not very well. I had to for my end of year assessment, so I recorded each chord I needed, then edited them together with Logic. 🤫 Quote
gafbass02 Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 (edited) For most of the last decade I played a marauder, stupidly sold it to a mate when I was struck down with covid thinking I’d never recover and he wouldn't sell it back to me when I could afford it. Heartbroken and can’t afford another now. Edited July 15, 2024 by gafbass02 1 Quote
Jackroadkill Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 (edited) Before I came to my senses and moved to four strings I was a Telecaster man. Edited July 15, 2024 by Jackroadkill Quote
Simon C Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 Good question. The work bonus is due to be paid with this month’s salary. I have 4 basses (I’ve discovered the perfect number is 3.5), and enough pedals to be going with, so some of the bonus will go on a guitar. I’ll let you know what the answer is when I’ve bought it. itu Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 My six string - but it still would be bass - could be a Linc Luthier. I do like the looks of some older semi acoustic jazzes, like L-5, Byrdland, D'Angelicos and similar. Quote
tauzero Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 James Tyler Variax, either the JTV59 (Les Paulish, twin humbuckers if not using emulation) or JTV69 (Stratish, twin single coil plus humbucker). They generally get used for acoustic emulation. 1 Quote
LowB_FTW Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 I have a Tanglewood Les Paul copy, but I would dearly love a Firebird guitar. Mark Quote
Woodinblack Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 Gibson Firebird VII Assuming I can have whatever I want, as I don't have one. Quote
