Genz Benz Shuttle 6.2 noise - any recommended amp techs?

Hi Guys,

 

I have a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.2 head that I've used for ages. Has been a backup for a while now, but plugged it in the other day and something is awry... Basically a very loud white noise/hiss is constantly present when on, even when the input is muted, so definitely something going on in the amp. Gets louder if you turn up the master. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Is it worth fixing and, if so, does anyone have any amp tech recommendations in the Birmingham area?

Check the valve is properly seated, my Shuttle 6.0 did this and that solved the issue.

Likewise my Shuttle 9.2. Same problem, same solution.

It may be that the valve is not seated properly, but it could be other things as well. 

 

Where are you located?

Cheers for the replies, guys. I am away this weekend, but will check the valve and see if it fixes the issues.

Opened it up and, although it looked like the tube was seated properly, gave it a wiggle and the problem is fixed. Cheers guys!

Ok, if the problem returns, Surrey Amps is handling Genz Benz and Mesa repairs for the UK.
