‘51 pickup installed on a jazz bass

I’ve been toying with a project in my head but wanted to see if anyone has ventured with the same idea.

 

Replacing the neck jazz bass pickup with a ‘51 p bass pickup without too much fabrication to the insert.

 

Any thoughts?

Seems like it does - I thought the dimensions would be way off, but seems I'm wrong.

This would be for installation on a cheaper branded bass so will be an experiment to see if it works without too much work.
