asingardenof
If you have $7500 available right now you too can have one: https://sadowsky.com/instruments/nyc-basses/nyc-custom-jason-newsted-signature/
AndyTravis
Feels about 25/30 years a bit too late? he was using them from the load/reload era. “Newsted” as a band are done. Dunno - love the bloke, and he was probably well up there with Flea as my early influences/inspiration… But £7000+ for that? Big fat Meh.
Lozz196
Coincidence that this comes out around the same time as the auction of his other gear?
Brian18242
Did he not use EMGs in his sadowsky basses? I may be wrong on that

Misdee
It's actually a pretty tasty bass, except for those skulls on the fingerboard. Not my taste. Apart from that this would be a very useful instrument in any genre of music.

Doubt it for most. It’s Ltd to very small numbers which makes it collectible and for only 13 rich collectors who also like the nostalgia it’s a slam dunk. eude
There's only 4 Four strings left now, so there's clearly a market, particularly for the 5 strings. I know this signature bass is FAR too late, but I am glad to see more of Jason. I wonder if Sadowsky couldn't really do this, financially at the time when the iron was hot, but now they have the back of Warwick, there's a bit more cash to splash? Doctor J
You don't think Sadowsky are making money out of this?

No, I'm sure they are, but perhaps the investment in doing a signature for a metal only artist back in the day might have been a stretch before Warwick's investment. fretmeister
I like them a lot. The 5 - having a 44.45mm nut, would be perfect for me. Probably be nice and light with the chambered body too.

matbard
The most desiderable bass Jason played is the unobtanium Spector JN-5P Edited July 24 by matbard

Plus I prefer short scale these days. I do wonder how many of these will actually be gigged at the Dog and Duck, rather than just end up as collectors items
Noisyjon
I hear you there Mr. C. and yeah, these have 'case queen' written all over them. Hopefully Sadowsky are doing what Gibson do - Release the top end custom shop version first then roll out a production version in due course!
Clarky
Well those Gibson Gene Simmons EB-0s are not exactly flying off the shelf. This one had an £1800 price cut!

Lozz196
Sad that such decent, well built, and no doubt great playing & sounding instruments may well end up that way.
