Just in case anyone knows how to do it... this is the absurd list of what my Samsung Galaxy offers to open pdf files... I have Acrobat installed. I can't find any way of assigning apps to file types under 'default apps' as you would on a pc.

That's weird. Try opening Acrobat first, then using that to open the file which is probably in Downloads.

I just opened Acrobat on my Android phone and it (Acrobat rather than Android) gave me the option to set it as my PDF viewer, and allowed me to open PDF files from the app.

It's when I get links to pdfs it falls over. I can open saved files ok.

Just pointing out that 'subtle' is spelled incorrectly on both the black and white versions. Sorry....

Ha ha, with a different mistake each time. AI?

I shall make do with my faithful old Basschat long-sleeve T, and my Thatcher's Cider lanyard with the built-in bottle opener. :D  Flying the flag for BC and for the Wess Vinglund.

Not AI - FF: Fat fingers. I thought I had corrected that last year, maybe I did but kept the wrong ones.

Will post corrected versions when I get home.

An email from Steve Lawson, as I follow him on Bandcamp, saying that he will be at the show on Sunday.

"And then at the start of March, I'm playing at The Guitar Show in Birmingham. I'll be on on the Sunday of the show, March 2nd, and will be around all day. I'll post an update with my set time ASAP."

any idea if the food places will be open or will it be worth bringing sarnies?

Honestly the food in the canteen was nice, but, you knew a but was coming, its expensive and last year the ques were mental and it all went fast.

I'll be bringing sarnies to the stall I think haha

Just been told SBL had to pull out due to family issues, but they will be there for 2026 which is going to be even bigger!

Good plan. There's a chip shop about 5 mins walk away from the venue as an alternative however, as well as a really good beer shop a few doors down (https://maps.app.goo.gl/fseFK4jF6iNqShyD7)

I know that area and if you head towards the Stratford road (A34) on Cranmore Blvd and turn right in less about a mile, there are loads of eating places in Shirley shopping area. if you get a taxi bus or drive down to Parkgate Shopping Cente(ASDA) you can park there and if you come out of the car park there are loads of eateries there from pub grub, Whetherspoons, Desco Lounge  to Indian restaurants along the high st there. There is also a KFC next to the BP petrol station on Stratford road and MacD's  if you turn left on stratford road out of Cranmore, and head back towards the M42.

Hope that helps.

If you do park in Parkgate then be aware that it's free for three hours, and you have to pay to park longer. I have no idea how you do that.

The venue car park isn't really big enough, but there is enough on-street in the surrounding industrial estate.

Looking forward to it.

Yeah the street parking looks alright but I don't know what it will be like on the day haha.

Do people tend to bring their own basses to try amps out and things or would I look a muppet? haha

My mate Aaron is on the Ortega stand and he has told me they have a new Solid Body U-bass out, so I'm looking forward to seeing that, Re-chargeable electronics apparently 🧐

Street parking is generally eaten up very quickly after the car park fills up, but there should be somewhere within 1/4 of a mile. Taking basses in/out isn't something I see people doing much, and adds complexity in terms of security (receipts are checked for instruments on exit).
