Will I 100% be able to get in buying tickets online the door? I've been a couple of times and bought a ticket on the door. Never had a problem. That said, because it's bass and guitar, there may be more footfall than last year. Quote

I think they make more put of tuition than sales. Last time I went in, to get a cheap headstock tuner a few years ago, the staff looked bored beyond belief. It's not a shop for seasoned bass players. 🙂 and the staff are friendly. 1 Quote
jazzyvee Posted Saturday at 10:19 Posted Saturday at 10:19 (edited) Is there a secret handshake or accessory to help identify fellow basschat members? If anyone want's to say hello i'm the black guy wearing an alembic shirt.👍🏾 Edited Saturday at 10:19 by jazzyvee 2 Quote
Rich Posted Saturday at 11:57 Posted Saturday at 11:57 Bloody typical... 7 miles away and everything's ground to a total stop on the M42. Two fire engines gone past. Haven't moved an inch for 20 mins. FFS. 2 Quote
rwillett Posted Saturday at 12:04 Posted Saturday at 12:04 Love to be there. Sadly got family here Take lots of photos for those of us who couldn't make it 1 Quote

I've done a couple of jobs which had been sitting around for a while and now it's wings & roasted peppers for lunch! Quote

Jackroadkill Posted Saturday at 18:14 Posted Saturday at 18:14 Had a blast, and am still reeling from the experience! I met @walshy and @AndyTravis on the VBR stand (best part of the day!) and didn't buy any gear at all, although I now have a shopping list as long as my arm... 1 1 Quote
AndyTravis Posted Saturday at 18:26 Posted Saturday at 18:26 Loved it to be fair - the bass being separate from the guitar stuff is cool. plenty of nice stuff there too. Quote
Stub Mandrel Posted Saturday at 19:00 Posted Saturday at 19:00 Glad it was good. The round trip from south wales didn't appeal last night... Quote

Ditto - I just couldn't face the drive from North Lakes and trains not a viable option either. Only real option would have been an overnight stay Quote
Richard R Posted Saturday at 19:42 Posted Saturday at 19:42 (edited) I had a blast! Good to meet up with @AndyTravis and @walshy and confirm I don't need an expensive Fender in my life. Also meeting @jazzyvee by the Eich stand (try the bass boards, very strange but I can see why people use them). Hello to @Wombat too. Lovely basses at @Manton Customs and ACG, I can't remember the very band we were talking about @skelf (the exceedingly drunken one!) Popped by @Goliath_FX's stand, bass pedals in Warhammer models - wow! Plus lots of stuff to try and hearing Steve Lawson and Yolande Charles play live. I bought a set of strings, Yolanda 's CD, and a pint of Guinness zero. Happy day. Richard R Posted Saturday at 19:49 Posted Saturday at 19:49 A few pics. @Manton Customs Double neck Uke! Ortega stand. Idiot playing bass badly on the ACG stand. Yolanda Charles making it look easy on the Sandberg stand. Steve Lawson - a very different sound. 20250301_140524.mp4 Unusual bass at Absolute Music. Really nice to play, yours for under £2k. This wasn't even close to being the most expensive guitar at the show. (I didn't see it, but there was one at £85k!) 7 Quote

Rich Posted Saturday at 21:54 Posted Saturday at 21:54 I bought a magazine subscription and some lunch last of the big spenders eh? My favourite instruments were 1} a black Yamaha Nathan East signature 5, 2} a Strandberg on the Bass Direct stand, and 3} all the ACGs. 1 Quote
