Cracking day at the show yesterday.... lots of fab product and a perfect networking opportunity with not only fellow bassists, but some of the manufacturers and distributors too. It was lovely to hang out with Pete from Barnes & Mullins (Spector), the @Bass Direct chaps, @walshy & @AndyTravis, Clive and Andrew at Anaconda in the bass room..... as well as my good mates Chris Childs (Thunder) & Mike Hicks

 

I almost didn't visit the guitard show downstairs, but glad I did as there were also some tasty basses down there from AC Guitars and many others. Was great to meet Tom at Audio Distribution Group who are now handling Gallien-Krueger.... and also to chat to the D'Addario chaps about endorsement opportunities.

Will definitely be there next year!

Thanks to everyone who came and said hello. It was a magnificent weekend, basses sold and new friends made. Had an absolute blast with @AndyTravis and we will be back in 2026!

Really enjoyed the show overall (though I did have a “Hello Cleveland” moment when trying to find my way out of the guitar hall. In the end a security guard took pity and escorted me all of twenty yards to the clearly marked exit!).

 

It was especially lovely to spend some quality time with yourself and Walshy. It’s little wonder you and Walshy were so busy/popular - the way you were engaging with everyone that approached Vintage Bass Room, whatever the query, was fantastic. Encouraging people to dive and play whatever they wanted to, in their own sweet way, is not always something that is done these days. There was a young lad there with his dad. He was a bit shy/reluctant, but after a bit of encouragement picked up one of the Stingrays and brilliantly put it through its paces. Lovely to see. It’s the quiet ones you have to keep your eye on!

It was a pleasure to see you again this weekend Mick and spend a couple of days with you on the stand and definitely same again next year, you can start a lanyard collection 😂. I just think, irrelevant of the price point, these things are to be played, no matter age or skill level. Bet you went home dreaming of that ‘63 though 🤤
