Iā€™m guessing you bought the fretless from Badlands?

Ā

Looked like a lovely thing at a fantastic price.Ā

Badlands Guitars, a small shop with a good local reputation in these parts, have sold a couple of his creations, although they slashed the price of the fretless bass they had from Ā£450 to Ā£200. Seems he had a decent reputation going back to the 70s and 80s. Also looks like there are two Es and one I in Demetriou (might help on searches).

Our posts crossed - I thought that one sold a couple of years back...

Ā

No, my mistake, was mixing it up with a guitar they had sold earlier.

It was on their Instagram feed few days ago. Iā€™ve bought several guitars from Graham at amazing prices. He (and the rest of the people at the shop) are brilliant. Thoroughly recommend them to anyone.

Andy was( and hopefully still is) an absolute genius.I always went to him without fail when i needed set ups or any work done on my trusty MC924 musician and it always felt brilliant after his work. Also quite handy seven dials, Brighton only 25 minutes from where i live. I heard( but donā€™t quote me on this) that various lacquers, paints he used affected him so he gave it all up BUT again, that may not be the case.Ā
Anyway, i have always wondered myself what happened to him and if he was still working with quitars/basses Iā€™d take some of mine back to him for work in a heartbeat! I do hope he is still around and ok, a lovely bloke indeed x
