can i use older pickups on a new EMG solderless harness?

I have to replace the preamp in an old ibanez. The EMC BTC is perfect, but it is solderless. 

 

The pickups are EMGs, but the old type soldered on to the pots.

 

Can i use a solderless harness with "solder" pickups?

Yes - you'll just have to cut the pickup end of the solderless cable and connect it up that way.

 

Some people solder directly onto the pins of the preamp but if that goes wrong you've ruined the preamp. Far better to do the modification to the cable as that is the cheap bit.

Do you have an EMG blend pot as part of the system? There's a part on it specifically designed for you to solder older pickups onto.
