We bought this Glaesel bass in the States for

$3000 US. It’s got a really good tone for a student instrument. Comes in sturdy hard case for travelling, as well as a soft case.

More info please. Solid, ply, hybrid, fingerboard ebony or dyed hardwood? It's a long way from Aberdeen to Mid Wales :(

Honestly, I’m not 100% sure. I did pay $3000 US for it twenty years ago, and what little I’ve seen online about them is mixed, although at least one person in basschat has suggested they’ve seen one and it was solid. It has great tone (it’s out of tune, but we made a video so you can hear it). I’m also not sure about the finger board. I don’t see any light brown spots (although there are some white out dots my daughter’s instructor added to help her learn certain finger positions. It scrapes off easily though.) I’m including a picture of that, as maybe you have a better eye for discerning whether it’s stained or ebony. It was made between 1929-1945, if that helps at all. I’m also including a picture of its beautiful scroll head.

If we could get it to London, would you be interested? It could be collected anytime between the 8-15th August, with notice. If it’s too complicated, no worries. We will donate it to a school or something.
