smudge
This is worth a look. I don't doubt it has been posted before, but i thought it was a laugh. I am finally that step closer to my 8 year long dream of having a Trace Elliot rig ever since I found that they deliver a sound unlike any other...And through those years every time, again and again, I'd come accross a Trace Elliot rig...plug in...there it is AGAIN! That sound! Now I have an awesome cab thanks to Lushuk here for less than half rrp price...and a head soon to follow. So yeah, go for it. Even with this Markbass craze that's going on (and I use an SD800 head at the mo), Trace Elliot still kicks ass...and your back if you lift it too much! ARGH
Fun Ad..I used to think they were the best tone, and for a time they might have been...But I play Tech 21 stuff..which is far far better....
I found that, over time, the groovillium in my Trace had reacted with the anti gravity paste and reduced its effectiveness. Not only did the amp weigh more than when I bought it, it became much harder to bring on the funk.
gafbass02
That's awesome thanks for posting it. I used Trace for years, some of you might recall the last stack I had. It really was amazing and just owning it was a teenage dream cone true. Sadly moving it was such a pain I Succombed to the markbass craze in about it's first week lol! lee4
I'm sure some of our American members may struggle to get the uniquely British humour in that ad. My anti-gravity failled resulting in an hernia and the purchase of a Markbass head!

They dropped it over 5 stories and it still worked...then they went higher, dropped it...the fan went dodge but other than that it STILL worked haha! Indeed, using Markbass myself until now (I still use the head for now) Trace Elliot weighs a TONNE but I love the tone! I think of it this way...it's heavy...but once it's down it's down...then I can play. Plus the 1048H cab is over 25kg (about 35KG)...to me that means 2 people, never carry alone! I'd certainly NOT want a combo though...they are heavy at the best of times without being green and mean adding more weight. *sigh* but such a little price to pay...I'll never go back. I love how he walks in the test room and walks out with just the neck...Just does it so poncy it's well funny...haha this is what some folk do in thier spare time. Thunderthumbs
I think the anti-gravity must've worn out of my rig years ago, as there was a time when I stepped backwards off the small stage (drunk!), caught my lead round my ankle and proceeded to drag my entire rig down on top of me. I had no rubber tips on my graphic, just pure metal, so I had an imprint of my graphic on my chin for about two weeks!

Kiwi
I think the pearly king in the Cockney Compression might have been Clive Roberts (Peavey Europe MD) although I can't see enough of his face to be 100% sure.
Paul S
As a new convert to Trace Elliot gear I particularly enjoyed this - had to send the link to the other guys in the band so they knew why it sounded so good (and why it is green). I'm guessing that is Johnny Walker doing the voice over - certainly sounds like him - he manages that perfect 'constantly near to chuckling' tone so well. For anyone who doesn't know the remote parts of Essex - that 'Secret Nuclear Bunker' sign is for real. Makes me snigger every time I drive by.
