I assume these are passive? Just a bit confused by all the wires?

Yes, totally passive. Extra wires so they can be wired with a series/parallel switch. Can also just be wired in a normal manner (earth/hot).

I wonder if these will fit a Sadowsky MetroExpress 1st Gen 4 string Jazz..? Is the size of these pickups uniform or do they have different sizes out? Just I’ll try and measure up the Sadowsky then find the official measurements for these online and see if they fit. I’ve got a track record of buying JB pickups that don’t fit tho 🤦‍♂️ so I wanna try and make sure this time!

I don’t know about the Sadowsky sizes, but these definitely fit in both Fender US and Japanese basses. Hope that helps.

They are wired as two sets of coils, which enables them to cancel ambient noise without changing the tone like a humbucker.
