Got this not too long ago - used only in studio for recording in comfort. As new. No dents. No scratches. Case queen. Super lightweight for a stingray. Mint case and all candy. Still smells new 😄

Nowt wrong with it - just reaching for my 02 old stingray more. 

 

Putting this out there to see if anyone wants a trade for a stingray 5 or maybe a classic. 

paid £1900 on wills site + added 100 for a fret stone and dress from Chris mcentyer (sei bass, who’s now in Edinburgh, used to be London based and is a renowned luthier) which means you can slam the action down to as low as the saddle will let you. I promise. 

 

price is a guide as id rather trade. But I think it’s fair. I think. 
 

I have two stingrays (a 2002 which I prefer) 

 

as you may know these are technically superior to the pre special stingrays. Extremely light, a much more refined pre, and roasted neck with perfect balance, SS frets the list goes on. 
 

hoping if anyone have an older stingray 5 to trade. Cash adjustment depending on condition etc. ideally after one of the 00’s builds (the ones with the tapered fret ends - if you know you know)

It was measured at 3.8kg when I got it and I’ll confirm this later with my own scales - it’s my second lightest bass out of 10 the only thing I’ve ever had as light is my Cort GB modern but that’s made from paulownia .

Oh my goodness. That is pure pornography!

 

I love the looks and thought of a Stingray, but a P-bass suits my band better, plus not enough strings.
