dyerseve Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 (edited) Hello to all the luthiers out there, My German built Corvette $$ 5 string is suffering from a very badly twisted neck and I am almost certain it will need to be replaced. I am currently in touch with Warwick to see how much the price of a new neck is but I fear it may be well out of budget. As such I am currently looking for luthiers to advise me on how much they would charge to build me a replacement neck. I am guessing that the front facing of the headstock may be a challenge so, if it helps, I could ship the old headstock to you and maybe you could transplant it on to the new neck? Any advice and quotes are gratefully received. thank you, Chris Edited August 15, 2024 by dyerseve Quote
JPJ Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 I was reading the other on a luthier Facebook group about just how common this issue is with wenge necked Warwick’s. Good luck with the replacement. Quote
lemmywinks Posted August 15, 2024 Posted August 15, 2024 (edited) Cheapest option might be to grab one of the German Streamer Standards (with the one piece bridge) and swap the necks if they're compatible, usually around £300-£400.
