basshead56
Well the great swap-out continues. Been on a major Jazz kick since the start of the year. I started off with a Jazz, 25 odd years ago and moved on to Precisions within a year or two.. Aside from the odd Ray or Tbird here and there, it's been mostly P Bass all the way. I did have a lovely 2011 US Standard Jazz with a maple fretboard and absolutely loved the look and feel of it, but there was a big gap where a rosewood board Jazz should have been. I've always preferred rosewood boards on Jazz basses. Not sure why. Look? Sound? maybe both? Earlier this year I picked up a QMT Deluxe Jazz in Amber and a 60th Anniversary RW Jazz in Firemist Silver. Both those instruments are absolutely stellar and they just made me hungry for more. So out went the lovely sunburst and maple Jazz and in came... A beautiful 2020 American Pro II in Mercury. God I love thing!!! The neck is incredible!!! And the finish is glorious. Needs a set of new strings, a setup and I'll probably stick a Hipshot Xtender on it, but yeah, I think this is going to be Numero Uno for a few live projects for a while...
