David Gage Czech Ease + Flightcase - Now £1599 - *SOLD*
£1995
Bristol

Recommended Posts

Hello! I'm selling my David Gage Czech Ease bass and flightcase.

If you didn't know, these are a full 3/4 scale bass with a uniquely designed body shape. This one is all-ply construction, but it feels and sounds wonderful. I bought this as I had several outdoor gigs and I needed a portable bass (compared to the metal one). The metal one has now sold and a new wooden bass means this is surplus to requirements .

The bass is in good used condition. This has been gigged (across the world, I believe) and has some scars to prove it. there are no marks or dents on the neck but there are marks all over the body (none that have caused cracks or damage) and a small chip out of the scroll (which, would you believe it, is removable!)

The bass has had a recent set up and a new set of Spirocore Orchestral strings. It sounds wonderful, rich and vibrant. Action is low and the bass is ready to go. It comes with the official David Gage moulded flightcase. It doesn't, however, come with a gigbag. The original supplied with the bass pershed and I haven't had a chance to purchase a replacement. This is factored into the price.

The David Gage pickup is nearly new (replaced the existing one which wore out). The only slight issue I want to raise is a small gap in the wood at the bottom where the string wire grabs the end pin. This is stable, has never moved and isn't a fault or failure, but I wanted to mention it. Images as requested. This was checked as part of the set-up and is fine.

The price of £1995 I think is good value.

I will not send the bass anywhere. I won't entrust it to a courier or your friend with a van. I'm not really interested in trades. Finally, I'll be away from 24 August to 30th – but can welcome you here to check out the bass before and after those dates.

Here come the pictures...

  • Burns-bass changed the title to David Gage Czech Ease + Flightcase - Now £1850

I’m reducing the price of this. Sale is mostly because the flight case is so big and I have nowhere to store it.

In the pretty unlikely situation that you want the flight case but not the bass, I will sell this separately.

Overall package reduced to £1850. I’m losing money but that’s life

Just to add, this is the official David Gage moulded flight case that was built for this bass. It’s been used but in good condition, with no damage or cracks. I simply don’t have the space to keep the case and bass.

I’m currently on holiday in Spain and the case is about 860 miles away, but if it’s required, I can take images. What I don’t have is the fitted soft case that came with the bass. (As explained on another thread, this perished when the bass was in India on a tour. The case seemed to have melted, and would leave a sticky residue all over the bass when it was used – not nice!).

Hi! I’m interested in

buying this bass, is it still available and where are you in the UK?

Many thanks

Phil Williams.

Hi Phil, it most certainly is. I was just playing it literally a minute ago.

I’m based in Bristol (but just driving to Cheltenham for my first gig of a 3-gig weekend!)
