DocTrucker Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 Mornin' all! I've got a francenstien of a PBass that I've cobbled together and while I like the tone and behaviour of the electrics it has cronic neck dive. As a temporary measure I'm tempted to route out a pocket and fill it with weight, but longer term I'd like to swap the hardaware and electronics onto a more balanced neck and body. I am looking for pbasses that are really common and cheap but suffer cheap hardware and electrics. Do the squier affinity basses bslance well? Would the PBass kit from Thomann be a good pick or does that also suffer neck dive? Others to look out for? Thanks! Quote
Hellzero Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 Buy a Sadowsky MetroExpress from Thomann and forget your problems. https://www.thomann.co.uk/search_dir.html?__cTr=02d19870-b3f5-4324-8c56-8f4174858e1b&shp=eyJjb3VudHJ5IjoiZ2IiLCJjdXJyZW5jeSI6NCwibGFuZ3VhZ2UiOjJ9&reload=1&smcs=f174a4_6096&oa=pra&price-first=0&price-last=399&vf=true&sw=MetroExpress&sp=bloomreach&category[]=GIEBS4&category[]=GIEBJ4&cme=true&filter=true Quote
DocTrucker Posted August 22, 2024 Author Posted August 22, 2024 I'm looking for a sub £100 spend, most likely second hand. The tinkering is part of the fun for me here. Not asking for a good PBass that you'd be happy with, just a list of mass produced entry level basses that were balanced well with half decent bodys and necks. Thanks. Quote

DocTrucker Posted August 24, 2024 Author Posted August 24, 2024 Apologies, thought you were just telling to rumage in charity shops! 😄 That does look a good shout. Having said that I just remembered I have an old digital SLR with a few accessories to flog on ebay which may help me make the diference up and get the five string I had my eye on, so this may get shelved for a while!
