woodyratm
Hi folks, thought I’d share this out as I’m immensely proud of it! Today our latest EP went live on a myriad of streaming services. It’ll be on Amazing music and Bandcamp today too. The Julian Year is proud to announce the release of their latest EP, The Price of Freedom. This 7-track collection features five brand new tracks alongside refreshed versions of their 2023 singles Rewritten and Legions, the latter of which received airplay on BBC Radio 1’s Introducing Rock with Alyx Holcombe. The Price of Freedom builds upon the sonic landscape of their 2022 EP All That I’ve Become by introducing several new elements to the band’s powerful EDM-infused hardcore sound; these include nods to nu-metal on both the title track and Rewritten, trance influences on Breakthrough, and dubstep-style synthesizers coupled with extended-range guitars on the epic closing track Dogma. Staying true to their creative roots, The Julian Year continue to draw inspiration from popular culture in their music; the title track pays homage to the iconic Final Fantasy video game series, whilst Breakthrough offers a critical reflection on the actions of a popular TV hospital drama’s lead character. The Price of Freedom is now streaming on all major platforms. For further details, visit li.sten.to/thejulianyearofficial. About The Julian Year: The Julian Year is a four-piece hard rock band hailing from Aberdeen, Scotland. The band is made up of lead vocalist John Forrest, bassist Davie Brown-Wood, guitarist Scott Murray and drummer Steve Clark. Their music draws influence from a wide range of sources, including life in Aberdeen, popular culture and personal relationships. The band combines EDM-inspired synthesizers with massive guitar riffs and emotive vocals, delivering a sound that is both powerful and Nerdy part - bass was recorded direct using my Status Chris Wolstenholme 1 and 2 (5 String). Tone built with NDSP Parallax - it worked beautifully in tandem with both Status basses. I’m happy with how it sounds!
