sPiKi Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 (edited) Not sure if this has been posted already, but has anyone tried one of these out yet? I've seen a couple of videos on YT from Japanese websites demoing them, where they seem to have been available from a couple of months ago. Not sure if I really like the PJ on the offset Jazz body but remaining open minded. I'm in the market for a new bass and have been considering a few models, either one of these, an American Performer precision or a MIJ jazz International series. In no hurry to buy but just interested in anyone's experiences/opinions. Edited August 30, 2024 by sPiKi Quote
Grahambythesea Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 I like the look and it is of course a well tried combination by almost every other maker. I also like the look of the simplified Jazzmaster, the original looked cluttered to me, too many switches. The sunset orange Jazz is a peach, but I won’t be buying one. Quote
jd56hawk Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 (edited) Not a PJ fan, but does the typical Fender PJ problem exist with the Japanese J pickups? Other than that, they do have a traditional P bass, although I have to wonder about their name choice. Edited September 6, 2024 by jd56hawk Quote

I assumed it would mean it has a Jazz-width neck, but on their website they specify a 42 mm nut width. 1 Quote
sPiKi Posted September 6, 2024 Author Posted September 6, 2024 (edited) I think in an older Andertons' video where they demoed the V1 Hyrids, they said it referred to vintage looks with modern features (sustain block under the bridge but not sure what else from memory). Still interested to hear a good quality recording of the new Jazz PJ. Edited September 6, 2024 by sPiKi Quote
