Quatschmacher Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 Could someone who has a Mercury Flanger and access to the desktop editor please check something for me: If you load a phaser patch into the pedal and turn the “delay” knob on the pedal, does the “frequency” knob in the editor move? In the old editor the knob was labelled frequency/delay. Basically, I need to know whether it’s possible to control the phaser sweep’s centre frequency directly from the pedal; if so, I need to get one instead of my Lunar as that’s a far more useful feature to me than control over the LFO shape. Thanks. Quote

Quatschmacher Posted September 23, 2024 Author Posted September 23, 2024 Bumping this to see if anyone can assist. Quote
Quatschmacher Posted September 26, 2024 Author Posted September 26, 2024 Somebody on here must have one of these! Quote
Quatschmacher Posted October 14, 2024 Author Posted October 14, 2024 Seems the only way to get an answer to this is to get one myself and check. Quote

GisserD Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 What a privilege 👏 Can you ask them to send me an artifact? Quote

I do do a lot of unpaid work for them so this is my recompense. I could lend you my backup Artifakt for a bit but you’ll be about 6th in line. It’s currently with @dodge_bass who’s sending it to @andybassdoyle today hopefully. When he’s had a good amount of time with it , there are a three other people I’ve promised it to. Happy to send it to you thereafter but it’ll likely be towards the end of the year. 1 Quote
moley6knipe Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 @Quatschmacher - soz, only just seen this. I’ve got a mercury, can try tomorrow… 1 1 Quote
moley6knipe Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 Hello! So, with the editor on Mac looking like this: ...turning the 'Delay' knob on the pedal makes the top-left 'Depth' control move in Neuro editor. HTH? 1 Quote

The “depth” knob in the pedal should only respond to the “depth” knob on the pedal. The “delay” knob on the pedal should control “delay” in the editor, and on phaser patches this should actually be the centre frequency of the filter. In the old editor it is labelled as “delay/frequency”. Another way to check would be to load a phaser patch onto the pedal and turn the “delay” knob to see if it indeed does change the centre frequency. Edited October 19, 2024 by Quatschmacher Quote
moley6knipe Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 I’ll try again tomorrow and see if there are any weird settings / config at play, and will try loading some patches etc… 1 Quote
moley6knipe Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 Hi! Sorry, Sunday ran away from me! So, one factory reset later, with my '12 Stage Phaser' patch loaded into the pedal (I normally recall scenes from the Hub) and using Neuro Desktop 3.0.21 (306) on Mac: when I move the physical "Delay" knob on the pedal when connected to the editor, the "Delay" knob in the Neuro editor on the Mac moves. Same is true of all other knobs i.e. the name on the pedal knob matches what moves in the editor! TBH unless I'm missing something I don't see (outside of the parametric EQ section) a "Frequency" knob in the editor? 1 1 Quote

What I’m trying to ascertain is whether in a phaser patch the “delay” parameter is indeed controlling the centre frequency of the phaser’s notch filter. (As said, in the previous Neuro, the “delay” parameter was actually labelled “delay/frequency”. the way to test would be this: Load the phaser patch; Turn the “depth” knob to zero; Move the “delay” knob back and forth on the pedal and listen for any movement of the phaser. Quatschmacher Posted October 28, 2024 Author Posted October 28, 2024 Just fired up my new Mercury and managed to finally get an answer as to whether the “delay” knob controls the centre frequency of a phaser patch - it does! So ironically Mercury is the best pedal for my use to create phaser patches as I like adjusting the centre frequency but rarely mess with the LFO shape. However, there seems to be a bug as the hardware knob only allows half of the range of the editor knob. I’ve reported it. Quote
moley6knipe Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 Sorry I failed and went silent on this! Glad it does what’s expected. Sort of! Quote
