In case anyone is interested in a Z7, I’ll have mine on sale until Friday…! I know it’s self promotion but genuinely a steal if you ask me 🤣

Thanks Buddy, however I forgot to mention it was a  Z7 5'ver I was questioning. TBH from the images it looks to me very Stingray like at 17.5mm?

I think he was answering your question by saying the 4s are 19mm - making the 5s 17.5mm.

Haven't played or seen one, but very few of these styles of basses would have the wider 19mm spacing. Mainly left to more modern basses like MTD and certain I Ibanez models.

Oh shoot sorry @Gaucho 5 I was too brief! Yep, 19 for the 4s, 17.5 on the 5ers.

Thanks for conformation. I did think that was the case as Sire seem to have followed the Stingray theme and I imagine most people considering these would be looking for similarities. In regard to 19mm with a MM pup Lakland 55-02's and Sandberg VM5's have that covered ( I've owned both) but way more expensive than Sires! TBH the QC issues shown in this thread is an unexpected disappointment!

I wouldn't read too much into it - there's always a bias towards the negative in reporting.  No-one ever seems to mention the fact that mine arrived pristine and in perfect working order.  Did I mention, for balance, that mine arrived in excellent condition, fit and finish?  The only "issues" I had were my dislike of the stock knobs and my ham-fisted exploration of the internals pulling the connector off the bass pot - both "me" problems.

I have a z7 for a fee weeks now. I am quite happy with it. With the mids cranked up I can get a fun “rage against” vibe going on 😁

the active sercuit is something you need to get used to, not a fan but the fersitality can’t be beat. Like, it’s to much but you can use it al if that makes sens…

Just a note on the batteries. I changed mine in the Z3 and the originals (presumably from Europe) where a couple of mm longer. Therefore the UK ones didn't fit as they're a drop in system rather than a connect system. So, to get it to work put them in then just add a bit of foam or similar to the back so they can't move around.

Its literally mms but makes all the difference and stops them slipping away from the contacts.

Aren't standards great?  There are so many to choose from!
