Bagman
Warwick 5 String Fortress Flashback made in Germany 1996-98 Passive with the stock MEC pickups this instrument is very well made. I have limited idea what I’m going to use it for but possibly Rock Music Plectrum type stuff. Or even thumping and popping heaven forbid It snaps out bright this bass despite the pick ups being underwhelming strung as it arrived with Daddario Chromes. I’m think I could go smoother with this instrument possibly La Bella or I try DR Legends ( never used them). anyway there you go , a rare instrument, it looks a bit different (bling?) but once I practice enough with its string spacing (a bit narrow for me) it’ll be a keeper

Pea Turgh
Oh wow - I remember those! I’ve never seen one in real life, but they look absolutely fantastic. What is the sting spacing? Weighty or floaty?
LeftyJ
Very nice! I think I've mostly seen these with 2-TEK bridges, I don't recall seeing them with the Warwick bridge before. That's interesting!

What is the sting spacing? Weighty or floaty? Definitely Floaty. Reason; that enormous top horn makes the balance so good that you forget it's even on, in spite of it being a middle-weight. 1

Yes there is a 2-Tek bridge variation which I would like to have tried. conceptually it looked like a good idea to me. apparently only 50 x 5 string Flashbacks (?) is the internet version of events
Bagman
So a light plectrum FTT Silky VCA compression and SGFX Bera V preamp f***ing rawk tone i don’t really play Rock and not big on plectrums but this is marvellous I feel 30 years younger
fretmeister
ah man! I am jealous! I tried one of those at the old Birmingham Bass Centre in about '96. It was brilliant! I was at uni and had no money to buy it, but I looked for one for years after I graduated. Too heavy for me these days, but I'd still have one to play when sitting down in front of the TV! Congratulations indeed!
fretmeister
Also - the 2-TEK bridge is a pile of arse. You got the right one. The 2-TEK's only discernible purpose is to make a bass even heavier while at the same time making it impossible to get spares and cutting a massive hole in the body meaning it's really difficult to use a different bridge when the spares run out. I don’t know I have never played a 2-Tek equipped instrument as before, conceptually it seems a good idea however the market said otherwise and they went bust
