You are welcome to try either or both out - but not at the same time as I need to use one of them. We can meet up as before. BTW The Barefaced Midget is 48 x 34 x 34 cm at 9kg and 8 Ohms. The GRBass 208 is W29 x D31.5 x H57.5 cm at 11.2kg and 4Ohms. OTOH as you know, I use (wireless) IEM and often no backline. But if your BL is against IEM and won't let you change the desk then how how something like a Rolls Personal monitor (PM351) whereby you can have your own IEMs and control the mix of your bass and the feed from the mixer in.
la bam
Have you ever tried no amp? Just a pedal direct to PA? It sounds crazy, but it's much easier and better than you think. You get all the bass goodness through the PA and can hear everyone else better without your bass masking them. Even better if all your band can do it. If not, the lightest combos I found were the new ashdown studios.
SuperSeagull
I think I'm sorted. I've picked up two TE 1 X 10 cabs from @fleabag Each weighs 7kg or just a bit more than my cat. I needed an amp with more headroom than the Elf but didn't want to spend a fortune so grabbed a B stock HB Bass Block to use as a power amp after my sansamp. Tried it all at rehearsal tonight and sounded excellent, bags of headroom, clean and very punchy. I'll hang onto the MB gear until I've had a chance to gig test it all but I think it's going to work. Thanks also to @Calex for his advice as a user of the same cabs. Edited November 20 by SuperSeagull
bigthumb Posted Saturday at 11:31 Share Posted Saturday at 11:31 I took delivery of this lovely Markbass Energy 2x10 earlier in the week, thanks to BassBros 👍. At only 11Kg it's a shade lighter than my Epifani UL 1x10! Made from some sort of lightweight composite and Neo speakers means this easily the lightest cab I've ever owned. I took it to a rehearsal where it preformed as well as I'd expect a 400w Markbass cab should. Plenty there but I never like pushing a single small cab hard so after a quick trial I added my Epifani to make a 3x10 stack. The Epifani is a great little cab in its own right, but I am now after a second Markbass cab now to make either a 4x10 or 2x10 & 1x12 stack. These cabs are designed to stack neatly together as the dimensions are the same. The cab looks and feels well built. The moulded composite body has a soft feel to but it seems solid and sturdy. If you were to throw it about I'm sure it wouldn't do it any good but most bassists probably won't be doing that! It's also good looking cab IMO and the carpeted top and sides add a nice classy touch. So when funds allow I'll be buying another, either a second 2x10 or the 1x12. Very impressed with them.

That's what I do - my previous band had no interest in IEMs so I went my own way. A Boss tuner with 'output' and 'bypass' jacks on my pedalboard lets me split the signal to drive a Fischer personal IEM amp with ACS ambient IEMs.
msb
I’m approaching mid 70’s , and still gig every week. Load the car , drive it downtown , lug it , set it up , play , tear it down and drive ‘er home. Generally in mid sized rooms where my amp is the room sound , not in the PA. My slightly older Berg cab is 12.7 kg , so it’s not bad. I use a light class D head and a tube pre. Usually bring two basses , just in case. It’s manageable , sounds deadly. When I was younger I was dragging an SVT fridge out to similar rooms. And we played much louder …
