oldslapper
Picked up this unused Signature branded J bass loaded body and unused neck. Neck had no holes drilled for machineheads or body attachment. Came with good quality hardware and decent pots/pups. String through body. Neck had date stamped Aug 08 87 (indented not just stamped/written) and control cavity QC dated May 90. The neck where the stamp is looks like it has a crack but it’s actually only a stain run. I’ve put it together and it’s a lovely bass, the bridge pup is a monster and the tone control has a nice wide range. I believe there was some chatter on TB about the original Signature brand being some collaboration with Rush guitarist and some luthier. But the brand didn't last and someone bought up all the stock. Theres also some stories of someone using a Chinese company to produce them now. Anyway, I don’t particularly care as it’s a great bass. Happy Slappy.

I like the micro-tilt function on the neck heel.
gafbass02
I special ordered a bespoke one from an eBay seller years back who had hundreds of parts. I think they were called slonk18. It was all a bit controversial Edited September 9 by gafbass02 C
Hellzero
Had a few Jazz Basses from Signature something like 15 to 20 years ago. Excellent stuff for sure and indeed made in Canada as a collaboration between them and Alex Lifeson.
