DocTrucker
Morning All, Curious to hear if anyone has used the GuitarML software and Pi Stomp boxes with bass? I'm guessing noise may be an issue with accurately detecting low frequencies but other than that don't see a huge amount of hits on the GuitarML term, including none on this forum. Not done any research past finding the following links so far. https://guitarml.com/ https://www.treefallsound.com/
Bigwan
Never heard of this, but now I'm interested and the kits are out of stock!
DocTrucker
Yeah, there is a third version in the works that is to be released soon according to the news section.
DocTrucker
I was thinking about trying to source the parts and building them up for a small fee, but looks like the third version does most of that for you. I'll still give them a poke for costs soon though.
tauzero
I had a look at the Pi Stomp quite recently but it seemed to have come to a grinding halt. Looks like it's moving again now. I may have a shot at knocking something together as I've got a Pi and a Hifiberry DAC+ not doing anything.

tauzero
I thought I'd try putting ElkOS onto a Pi4/Hifiberry that I have lying around. What an absolute f*cking nightmare. Mistyped the wifi password and can't find a way to get connmanctl to let me change it, connected with ethernet but PuTTY (latest version) won't play with it as ssh and PuTTY aren't agreeing about key algorithms. I'm not having a good day anyway and this is just making things ten times worse. I shall see if anyone in the Elk forum has any suggestions. rwillett
@LukeFRC Currently feeling like sh1te as I appear to have had a severe allergic reaction to being nettled. Been in bed all day with temperature at 39.3C, now feeling better but still feel like a whipped puppy. Slightly nervous about the reaction as I live in the country. Nettles are dead common here. Not familiar with Elk OS but had a look around for it. If you make mistake with the wifi password and can't login it's normally easier to just rebuild it from scratch. Surprised that Putty is struggling with the protocols. Putty is as good as you get TBH and I've used it for years. I have a KVM and keep a port spare for just this type of problem, but that doesn't help @tauzero. I also know he's not stupid so something is up with Elk OS here. My pi 5 is now dedicated to development for the, ahem, exceptionally long delayed pick up winder, but I'll pull a PI 4 out and have a try. I don't have any of the boards that people are using. Is it this one https://www.hifiberry.com/dacs/ Thanks Rob

Is it this one https://www.hifiberry.com/dacs/ I've not encountered this in 20 years or so of using PuTTY. I've also got a KVM with a couple of spare ports, which is what the Pi is currently living on. Next stage is going to be to re-burn the OS to the SD card and go round again - at least it's just plug and play (the audio card is automatically detected in a script), I hate it when you go through an hour or two of rigmarole and then have to start all over again. OTOH, I imagine that I'd get exactly the same thing going via wifi. The Hifiberry card is https://www.hifiberry.com/shop/boards/hifiberry-dac-adc/ - this project is taken from https://towardsdatascience.com/neural-networks-for-real-time-audio-raspberry-pi-guitar-pedal-bded4b6b7f31. tauzero
Further update - I burnt the image again, put the right password in, and got the same result from PuTTY over wifi. Casting around, I found KiTTY, a fork of PuTTY, and tried that, and it worked. https://www.fosshub.com/KiTTY.html and https://www.9bis.net/kitty/#!index.md
rwillett
If Putty doesn't work I would seriously question Elk OS and what it is doing. I've never seen Putty fail like this. We use it on thousands of projects. Kitty does appear to be a.good fork of Putty but deep down it should handle the same protocols and handshaking. tauzero
Even stranger, I just tried using PuTTY (v0.81) from my laptop (I'd been using it on my Windows 10 machine which is the one in the office with a spare accessible HDMI screen that I'd used to set up the Pi in the first place) and it worked fine. I need a drink.
rwillett
Ooohhhhh. That sounds like a recipe for madness. Wonder if there is/was a bug/glitch in Elk OS to do with handshaking. I have seen that happen before but not with Putty. Those sort of issues tend to get resolved PDQ as they get found quickly. Rob
DocTrucker
I had a response from the company. Things are progressing still. He has partnered with another company to do the collection of parts and assembly. Looks like the V3 may be off the shelf, or minor assembly only.
