Anyone triggering visuals?

We're looking at triggering some visuals (videos, effects) with MIDI somehow. Does anyone have any first hand experience of doing this in an unobtrusive manner? And best software?

It looks like there are bits of software that do it like Magic Music Visuals and Synesthesia.

The thought I've had so far is to set up triggers on my GX-100 along with banks of custom patches for each song, so that when I hit a switch, it sends out a MIDI signal and the visuals change.

We use B-Beat for triggering videos for each track.  I'm no expert on the tech but it seems to work very well.

Interesting looking device although somewhat pricy.

Also seems weird that they make a big thing of error free use on stage and then choose to power it via a USB cable and use mini jacks for MIDI connection. These are both things that IMO have no place in a gigging environment because they simply aren't robust enough.

I do have worries about something going wrong but it's been robust enough...so far!!
