I have a tiny pedalboard and it's full. I need to add an octaver so wonder if I could replace my existing mini compressor pedal (JHS Whitey Tightly) with something even smaller that I can mount UNDER the pedalboard!? It works need to be smaller than a mini-pedal, something of a similar size to a Micro Thumpinator (84mm x 44mm x 23mm, 3.3"x1.73"x0.9").

I know I "should" get a Stomp, but that's not what I'm asking! I like pedals and I don't want a bigger board...

The Accountor is small and powerful, but it certainly isn't transparent. A fun unit, though.

I tend to forget that some Canadian (?) has advertised here of a dbx copy that can be built to a bass. Very interesting concept! Wait a moment...

TC Spectracomp is about the same size as the Micro Thumpinator and a really powerful compressor if you’re prepared to dive into the software.

The Henretta Engineering Orange Whip is the smallest I've ever seen.

I'm sure you could remove the switch and wire it to always be on as well if the switch got in the way. The other controls are inside on trim pots.

That looks amazing! And I'm sure I could hotwire and remove the footswitch... Great suggestion! Thank you :)

How interesting: a bass-mounted compressor circuit... Definitely worth an investigation :)

The mosky (amongst other labels) is decent and affordable, I have one on my practice board, the downside is the LED is offensively bright and will leave you seeing blue dots when you blink!

I don't often wander on this side of the pond, but I did just now and somehow stumbled upon this thread. In case anyone is still interested, I did just brew a new batch of my onboard one-knob compressor:

I honestly think it really whips the Llama's arse! Too bad very few people think of a compressor as something to put onboard.

That looks cools.

Will it work with EMGs?

Yes, it works with just about any pickups and can (and should) be calibrated to suit the pickups' output level. The hardest challenge was making it have a long-enough battery life, since there's a lot more going on than in a typical onboard EQ, for example. I managed to get 350 hours of play out of it.

Oh, and it has a worst-kept secret feature: it can drive headphones.
