Has anyone bought one of these Chinese fretless Jazz bass necks on eBay?

Is it at best a waste money, or a way for China to get your data?

The price is £89 compared to £250 for an Allparts one. So probably crap.

Just wondering if anyone has bought one.

I bought one from ey guitar parts. Fretless maple. It was/is fine. Used it in my Police tribute

The dots are in the wrong place, they are in between the frets like a fretted bass, so I got my tech to add some more in the right place (in black, the original ones were white)

worth a punt I woud say

As was mine, virtually no finish on the board making it unplayable with anything but low tension tapewounds. Also had slightly oversized headstock. I might have been unlucky of ocurse 👍

difficult to know with this stuff, it was cheap, so I took a punt and it's ok. It has done quite a few gigs but is now retired and hanging on the wall

Nice, but I'm a Jazz neck guy.😀

I was going to say you could have mine FOC but also a Precision neck, and to be honest, I suspect you'd probably not like it much either!

I went for it as an experiment, the "flamed maple" option from eBay.

I have rolled the edges, oiled the board, tightened the truss rod and filed the nut down (it was way too high). It's a fraction narrow for the neck join but have managed to get it in straight; the gap is barely noticable. If I had paid full whack from Allparts etc I'd be a bit miffed but I can live with it at the price. I'd say the nut slots aren't quite evenly spaced either but that's easily replaceable.

I will need to sort something regarding the dots as mentioned in previous posts but for a relatively cheap punt - £85 vs £250 - I'm happy enough with it.

Looks ok to me

I've recently bought two more jazz necks. One from ebay, which looks amazing. Plenty of birdseye figuring etc and the other from Aliexpress. Looks good but not as pretty

These are going to be used on my Adam Clayton replicas in gold and purple.

atm I have no idea how good they are, they feel nice but I'm soon to be spraying a headstock in gold then attaching it to the body, to see how it all lines up, before I spray the body

Also booked on a course to learn how to refret, fret level etc at Crimson guitars, which I'm really looking forward to
