steviedee
Hi I recently bought a Fender 50s Classic p bass. First P Bass I've ever owned and I love it but I was wondering if there is a similar old school style P Bass but with a thinner neck? I'm used to a Musicman and found the odd part a wee bit of a struggle on the P Bass.... I could just practice a bit of course!
JJMotown
Swop the neck for a jazz one.
Lozz196
The Classic P is the widest of the Precision necks at 44mm, pretty much any other will be 42mm or less.
meterman
The '81 USA Fender Bullet and the Squier MIJ that I bought on here both had the '51 neck and headstock. Nut width was 45mm. I loved them but they were like playing classical guitars or something. God knows how bassists who play 5 or 6 stringers manage! I'm so happy to have a Jazz width neck on a Precision body now 👍
Grahambythesea
As @Lozz196 says the classic P has a wide neck. My more modern one has 42mm, much more comfortable.
