rwillett Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 (edited) It's that time of the year when a gentleman's fancy turns to what to do next year OR the village hall committee asks you if you want to hire the hall again for "those odd people who made an awful lot of noise and possibly sent the sheep into early labour". I've now booked Clapham Village Hall for Sat 10/5/25. It's for the whole day. Lunch will probably be included again, We had about 10 people last year and it was a good number. We all had plenty of space and got around easily. However we could accommodate more people. If there is a sudden flood of people, we may have the option of a larger venue, but that could bang the costs up, e.g. Kendal Rugby Club, Settle Rugby Clubs (go North Ribbs!) or Ingleton Community Centre. At the moment the event is being sponsored by my company so it's free! I'm aware that some people were quite nervous about being there and if so, they are more than welcome to contact me about this to see how we can help. Just to be very clear, this event is inclusive, so everyone, regardless of religion, gender, declared gender, sexuality or anything at all is very welcome. Even people who swing both ways and play both bass and electric, I have to confess to that myself, so there you are We have quite a lot of space in our house so if people want to cut hotel costs and stay, you are welcome. We do have a limit on numbers but if people are prepared to be flexible, it's quite a lot. Thanks Rob Edited December 29, 2024 by rwillett 2 Quote

Also, people of the North West, the Ribble Valley Jazz & Blues Festival is going on the weekend before. I know at least myself and @shug will be performing in various guises. I particularly recommend you catch anything Shug is doing, he's a bass legend in these parts. (Sorry Shug, but you are, and I love you 🤣) Rob 1 Quote
rwillett Posted December 26, 2024 Author Posted December 26, 2024 (edited) I've now confirmed the NW Bass Bash for Sat 10/5/25. Format will be much as before unless people have a better idea. If people do want a place to stay Fri night, please let me know as I do have space in the house. We can fit a fair amount in real and actual comfortable beds and we will still have space for camp beds and the like. People are welcome to turn up late as well. There's plenty of space to store gear safely. I'll get the ball rolling with gear I may bring along. As I live next door, it's easy to change. Fender Jazz Bass Fender Mustang Bass Fender Telecaster - Yep six strings, I have no shame 3d printed Jazz Bass 3d printed headless bass Maybe a 3d printed reverse Thunderbird headless bass if I can pull my finger out. Ibanez short scale bass - ex building site by the looks of it Yamaha HS7 monitor A weird and unusual pedalboard setup. That'll probably change anyway. Edited December 26, 2024 by rwillett 1 Quote

zbd1960 Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 At the moment, I have a weekend away in Brighton pencilled in that weekend... however, it might get canned if another trip comes to pass, in which case I'd be free... It will be a while before I know for certain. Quote
