Being as I tend not to come onto BC socially any more (too much other stuff going on) I nearly missed this.

I’ll be there.

Hope to have my Zoot medium scale J and P and a pair of Warmoth P basses.

Thank you for getting this up and running again and I’ll put the word out where I can.

Great that you are coming along. See who.else you can round up from the Kendal area. I'm up there at 1100 this morning at Kendal rugby club coaching the girls.

This sounds like a great idea and thanks to @rwillett for organising 😀

I'm a definitely maybe. I have family in the area so easy to make an excuse to pop over. I don't have a lot of gear to add to the pool but it would be awesome to hang out.

I assume the "format" is an instrument and gear petting zoo? 😆

The best description of a Bass Bash I've ever seen, it's exactly that.

Hi @80Hz

As somebody else has said the petting zoo is as good a description as I've heard. I may well change the title of this thread to just that :)

We have family in York (Fulford) so we come over to York regularly. Partly to see family but also to check on what Geoff has in RWB guitars on Bridge St.

Do not worry about bringing lots of gear, I can assure if it's anything like last year, you'll have lots of things to pet. The aim is to have some fun, play stuff you might never get the chance to play, marvel at @LukeFRC pedal collection, wind the volume up whilst comparing various bass heads and generally chill out. Come and go as you please, it's exceptionally laid back, its a small village and we might get a few people pop their noses in, but its minimal fuss.

You are very welcome, it's two hours or so depending on traffic through Harrogate and Ilkley.

Excellent, it's in my diary!

I need to acknowledge a former teacher who was involved with early music for coining the term "instrument petting zoo" - in reference to the post-performance curiosity of audience members to assorted lutes, viols, theorbos, etc!

It's in the diary Rob, not sure what I'll be bring yet as I've move a fair few basses on due to some arthritis problems in my hands.  I have found a massager thingy which is helping though, which is good (but maybe less so for the listening public).

I can't find last year's thread, possibly not searching for the right thing.  Can anyone point the way please?

I'd really like to come to this. I'm sure I had to miss the last one due to a lousy gig booked somewhere. I'm just waiting so hear if the bands diary is free.

Well it looks like we have nothing booked for the 10th so count me in.

Woohoo. I can say that its just under two hours from Liverpool to Clapham. We do it regularly.

Thanks

Rob

So far we have (in no particular order).

@rwillett

@bigthumb

@neepheid

@ead

@80Hz

@GreeneKing

@stevie

@nekomatic <-- TBC

@ossyrocks

@peterjam

@doomkeeper

@Richard R <-- TBC

@Frank Blank

That's thirteen so we need at least one more otherwise we'll have to have our own version of Traitors (which is really a board game called Resistance) and murder somebody in the first 30 mins.

It's in the diary, so in theory booked and agreed,  but I am not 100% sure I'll be able to make it. Work commitments mean I am away a lot in the week, and that is likely to continue this year.  Fingers crossed.

Work is the curse of the bass playing classes...
