Chienmortbb Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 I had a BLX130 once, and wanted the extension cab to go with it. I spoke to the chap that built, or designed,(it was many real ales ago) the TE cabs. He said they used MDF as it was the best material for speaker cabinets. Actually concrete is better and I believe GR Bass are about to launch one. On a serious note, every design is a compromise between cost, performance and practicality but that BLX130 with a 10" celestion only weighed as much as a dwarf planet. It sounded lovely! Quote
BogeyBass Posted January 12 Posted January 12 If there really was wattage farmers, some of you collectors would be well Qualified 🚜 Over here in the states I remember seeing that panel glow the first time. Can imagine that club well and the band was actually good too. 1 Quote
SimonK Posted January 24 Author Posted January 24 If it wasn't tucked awkwardly on the other side of London from me I would have had this, albeit no gurantee the guy would have accepted £100 - I think probably £250 would be fair for a GP12 & cab. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/176794584421 1 Quote

uk_lefty Posted January 30 Posted January 30 I knew I shouldn't have opened this thread again..... I'm trying to get rid of gear but someone mentioned the glow on the front panel and I got all nostalgic for a second. 2 Quote

David Morison Posted Saturday at 16:27 Posted Saturday at 16:27 Sorry, just realised it was the 1528 that dclaasen was asking about, that 47kg was for the 1524 from the previously linked ebay auction, my bad. FWIW, while the same catalogue does show the 1528, it doesn't include specs. The 1248, which was the same size as the 1528 but with 4x12's was 45kg for the version without an HF driver; I'd imagine the 2x15 would be a few kg less than that. Quote

David Morison Posted Sunday at 09:34 Posted Sunday at 09:34 I mean, given we're talking about 90's era Trace, it's probably just a typo and they really meant 47 tonnes rather than kg, right? Quote
SpondonBassed Posted Sunday at 11:11 Posted Sunday at 11:11 (edited) I remember the courier giving me a really dirty look before putting down my 1818 and asking me to sign for it. No words were spoken and I didn't poke at it because I knew exactly why he was so frosty. Edited Sunday at 11:14 by SpondonBassed 2 Quote
Pea Turgh Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago A couple of months ago I responded to a Recycle post here from a very kind chap @verb. I have yet to make an appropriate sleeve, and it will also need a visit to an amp spa, but behold…. Quote
Stub Mandrel Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I used to keep my GP11 1110 combo at a rehearsal space. Gigged it twice. Now it's in the workshop, I would like to gig it for fun but... maybe take it to the Earl Haig later this month as I can roll it onto the stage. Quote
