squarejawbassist
Hello, been recommended by a certain Dream Theater obsessed mate to sign on as I'm currently looking for a midrange bass, and was told you're all friendly, welcoming chaps. I'm not new to the net by any means, so please don't pwn me for being a noob - I'm also not a particularly experienced bassist by any means, so am prone to asking daft questions! squarejawbassist
Heheh, thanks. I'm now thinking of dipping my toes in the "what should I get" line of posting, but frankly I've no idea what to say, or what I'm looking for. "Interesting" factoids about me - I play bass because I broke my finger in my early teens and can't really wrap my hand around a guitar properly. I usually play with three fingers to avoid using my little one... I've never been in a band, yet I've played other instruments "live" when I was a sprat (violin). I play for pleasure and also the insane jealousy of my mate whose on this forum, who's not only very talented but owns a couple of Warwick thumb basses which I look at lovingly and sometimes "have a go" on (for as long as possible). Zoe_BillySheehan
Well theres always time to get into a band at some point but at the moment, your having fun as you are, so thats cool. well once you know what kinda bass your after, and the price range, you should start a thread. seeing as you seem you like Warwick basses, have you looked at the 'Rock Bass' Warwick series? Johngh
Welcome to the forum. If your after a Bass there are always plenty in the Basses for Sale section to wet your appetite. Enjoy !
squarejawbassist
Thanks guys! I've been doing nothing but browse the sale section salivation at the range of sumptuous potential sounds (yikes) for over an hour now... and just posted a thread, hopefully in the right place, explaining kind of what I'm looking for and why. The sale section doesn't just whet your appetite, it makes an abyss in your stomach.

funkypenguin
thats some serious street cred. there! the sei thread is tasty. got some serious GAS for a 7 string looking in there. the alembic, status, jaydee and shuker threads are also pretty hot stuff i see you're looking for a new bass. might i suggest you consider a spector? something along these lines...
