tony_m Posted October 17, 2024 Posted October 17, 2024 From our current setlist, I always particularly enjoy playing the two Creedence "Rain" numbers (Have You Ever Seen The Rain & Who'll Stop The Rain) when me and Mr Drums really lock together. 1 Quote

diskwave Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 In a bid to re-aquaint myself with the fretboard and to get my old fingers moving Ive discovered a ton of new Big Band arrangements on YT complete with charts. I'd forgotten just how ferocious some walking lines can get... phew. Good fun. Quote

BassTool Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 I put down my fretted and use my fretless in back to back songs in our first half: Talk Talk 'It's my Life' then Don Henley's 'New York Minute' two of my absolute favourite fretless pop bass lines 😎 2 Quote
ezbass Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 We’ve introduced a new tune into our set list and were working it up as a band last night. It is my new fave tune to play with this band… Quote
ubit Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 When we were playing I loved playing anything as I was also the singer. I especially loved it when I mastered a bassline that had a bit of complexity and could sing over it. 1 Quote
Mickyk Posted October 22, 2024 Posted October 22, 2024 I always fancied being in a Beatles tribute band.that Paul McCartney geezer didn't half come up with some brilliant Bass Lines. I'm on with this one at the minute, great line. 1 Quote
Leonard Smalls Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 We only do two covers, but I enjoy 'em both! First, there's "Don't Dictate" by punk legends Penetration - I play it with a mashed up section of Cameo's "Word Up" which works very well. We also do Dead Kennedys' "Moon Over Marin". As we're a 2 bass band El Rapho plays a relatively straightforward version of the bass line, but I play it as if it was Magazine's "Song From Under The Floorboards", which also seems to work. Quote
