When I took those horrible bronze clangy things off my acoustic, defretted it and stuck a set of nylon coated strings on it was an "ahhh, that's what acoustic basses are for" moment. PaulThePlug Posted October 10, 2024 Author Posted October 10, 2024 (edited) Fretboard is listed as Oiled Poplar Laminate, and was rough and dry. Quick and Light 1200 and 1500 sanding, clean with so isopropyl, and a wipe with a bit of Danish Oil left over night to seal. Had a go at the nut slots with some sandpaper to take the Roto Tru Bass strings at a hefty 65, 75, 100, 115. And a 1/4 turn or the truss rod.
