3V17C
Local guitar builder Guyton Guitars has for a while been producing official Brian May Red Special guitars, but seems he's made a bass version too! I'm not a big queen fan, but its quite nice and pretty unique... BarnacleBob
That is pretty cool! Reminds me of a Dan Armstrong! BB
lemmywinks
That's actually really nice, the shape seems more suited to bass too! Maybe Brian was a closet bass hero relegated to guitar by Deacy's outrageous shorts............
Happy Jack
Very retro & pretty cool.

Eight
Does this mean a load of people in Asia are currently missing their fireplaces? Edit: Sorry, didn't notice it wasn't made in Asia. Edited May 28, 2009 by Eight
EBS_freak
That's cool! I like. Not sure I would have chosen that as a neck pickup but either way, I'd quite like one!!
cetera
Ooh! That's nice Kinda like an old Ovation bass.... Any price guide on this?

Bassassin
That reminds me of old Uncle Ned: [attachment=26099:ned.jpg] Now forever to be known as the Ned Special? /coat. Jon.
thisnameistaken
Looks better than his guitar! I'm surprised, I thought this would be minging.
neepheid
Would have looked better without the mudbucker - stick to the Burns Tri-sonic (or equivalent), 2 or 3 of them would have looked much better, and much closer to the guitar version it's trying to ape. Dubs
Looks a bit odd to me, I'm not really a fan of it.
Buzz
Interesting choice of the Gibbo 3 point bridge on it, considering it's not very good.

Machines
Hmm, that seems to work actually ! Brian May is a fantastic bassist and has been an example to me for many years now.

JPAC
Are those inlays in the right places?
josh3184
well there's a double on the 7th and 19th which isn't usual but the 12th is correct. Who doesn't want to know where their 7th fret is?

12stringbassist
I don't like the bridge at all. Gibson bridges generally suck. The rest of it looks nice.

Possibly would consider a Hipshot Supertone as well.
