Mesa Boogie walkabout head - *Price Drop to £500*
£550
Bolton

Recommended Posts

With my current band going ampless pretty much its time to let my Mesa go.  Lovely valvey tone in a small easy to carry package.  Only points to note - the volume pot could do with a blast of electric cleaner as can be crackly when adjusting. Secondly the previous owner fitted a switch on the back (see pics) that can turn the fan on and off which is great for when using to record.

Collection would be from Bolton or postage within the UK could be discussed.

I may have missed it, but what's the wattage on this? I use an 8ohm 4x10 so not sure if this would have enough volume.

Whatever the Mesa tech spec says, these are very loud amps and even coupled with a 410 that's 8 ohms (not 4 ohms) , it will give you more than enough 'oomph' to keep up with most gigging situations..

I have the Walkabout 15 combo, and I use it for almost all my gigs - whichever band, band line up etc - it's so versatile!

I have the same amp and could easily do all my gigs with it.  It's done tours and all sorts of gigs in all genres. Amazing amps.

300w into 4ohms. One of the truly iconic amps, Mesa really poured in a lot of their secret sauce when designing it. As a small/lightweight backup to my M-Pulse 600 I have a WD-800 which in many respects is a better unit than the Walkabout in terms of power and tone control, but if I didn't have either the WD and MP I'd happily get another Walkabout.

In fact I might do so anyway :)

If part ex makes things any easier I would consider an Ampeg SVT Tube DI with cash my way.  At a push maybe one of the Origin Effect amp sims things - the Super Vintage or Black Face
