NancyJohnson
Sweetwater have just added a Schecter 12-string bass. Amazingly, it's only $1.100. Sadly, the body design is a bit Rickenbackeresque, which I'm not particularly enamoured with. It's instruments like this where I ponder the idea of finding a luthier who could cut off the wings and glue the central core into something else. (I may have a noodle in Photoshop later today.) It's going to be available in the white option below or black with a maple neck. No black/rosewood option.
LowB_FTW
I don't hate it. Mark
Newfoundfreedom
I have zero use or desire for a 12 string but I actually think that looks quite smart. I really like the shape.
LeftyJ
And a black one with maple board AND a lefty too! Schecter still is one of the most lefty-friendly manufacturers out there. They already had the Doug Pinnick signature 12-string DP12, also in lefty (the man himself is left-handed). I can't think of any other factory lefty 12-string basses
NancyJohnson
Dirty edits. Gotta say it looks nicer in all black, although I don't particularly like thoss sharp bits Even just dumping the neck and bridge into the Simon Gallup signature looks nicer:
prowla
I don't think it's that Ric-like. It could be fun to play one!
Grahambythesea
I’d reckon impossible to play finger style, a plectrum bass. I found I didn’t need a 12 string guitar so definitely don’t need a 12 string bass.
Delberthot
I had a couple of 12ers many years ago and sometimes played entire rock gigs with one. I always play fingers style so it's definitely possible . I don't even gig anymore but it doesn't stop me wanting one 🤔
Wolverinebass
I'd be getting the Dug Pinnick Schecter long before that one. One the other hand, I already have a Hamer, so I don't need one.
Skybone
That does look quite interesting, and not helping my GAS for an 8 string.

I owned a Waterstone TP12 for a while, it was effectively of a semi-hollow Les Paul style design; there was obviously a bit of weight on the headstock, but a combination of grippier strap and tendency for playing with the side of my right hand resting on the bridge, meant there wasn't really any discernable issues with balance. Have also been playing Thunderbirds for years, no real issue there either.
