alyctes Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 (edited) Someone's bitsa. Lots of work for little return, in my opinion. But it might be useful if you wanted a test rig. Or a way to distract yourself from something pretty serious - trying to get the wiring right would take me months. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/335623927661?itmmeta=01JAGZHVKT3YP1DSHPSSKXVR5A&hash=item4e24beb76d:g:xHMAAOSwCNhnEXIW&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA4Mxmj%2BiGvOveHXEBClPb29iM7VO2hZuLJ3Urgf0AV%2BhVoQBuANFcXzBqegu9ad8Sm%2FFsTALLQEWVZNcbLHBDfGW7SwED01EHfWWoa7X1cCCh%2FjOLi5F5rMlkSB29o56qisGMW1D5wFtXwkvH3JC6TLETjpUjHhZUORR9kR0h4WRYEsYnUNcsxWchpvw%2B5VnlV6VzU%2B%2F0KpsXc88qMM1sZWeexPHUfSPfmBAeeMxktKQ7ndGPBYVsKQjIciOq77LGEqJ5xVGUY3GVSeBcd0HbD8%2BUO0Jpcc2qxuqd2G50fxBN|tkp%3ABk9SR_65x5_UZA Edited October 18, 2024 by alyctes Quote
tauzero Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 It just needs that extra P pickup, then change those three volume controls to three blends - neck P/neck J, bridge P/bridge J, then blend between the neck blend and the bridge blend. No, of course I'm not going to do it. It's a 4-string. 1 Quote
rushbo Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 Changing the volume of each pickup quickly at a gig must be quite challenging, although removing that fourth pot must have made things considerably easier: Can you imagine what you might find if you removed the "pickguard"? It would be the luthery equivalemt of an autopsy. 1 1 Quote
Hellzero Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 I would add that fourth pickup like @tauzero mentioned, and, instead of blends, simply use a stacked volume/tone per pickup and put a Stratocaster type output at the same place. This way it would be very easy to use, but the sum of the parts would cost more than the body itself. I did something similar with a three pickups bass, but in a way better look and I always use a router... 1 Quote
