tinyd
I've tried searching but there's a confusing number of different versions with similar names so I thought I'd start a new thread. Anybody got any experience of these newer models e.g. https://www.thomann.de/ie/warwick_rockbass_streamer_lx_5_mrh.htm I'd like a five string and I've always liked the Warwick sound, but I don't have money for anything too pricey so I was wondering how these cheaper ones hold up? lemmywinks
You can get a used German Corvette for that price, a little more gets you a Fortress.
tinyd
Thanks, yep, there seem to be a good second-hand market but here in Ireland it would probably take a while before something suitable crops up. I'm still interested to find out what the newer ones are like if anybody has any experience.
Grassie
I have the white Streamer 5LX, with the active MEC pickups. It’s a really impressive bass given the cost against what you actually get for your money. Just-a-Nut (ok it’s the plastic version and not the brass one you get on the German models) 3-D bridge, straplocks, 5 piece neck, a nice thick fretboard, decent finishing all round, Warwick gig bag, truss rod wrench…. Niggles: the body is Carolena which is light. The problem with that is that it has a touch of neck dive. I do wish bass manufacturers would take this into consideration especially if their instruments have a compact body. The battery is located in the control circuit cavity, which I’m not a fan of. I would much rather have a separate battery box. Other than that it’s a great bass for £600. A lot of bang for your buck. 😊
