ahpook
aha ! i finally got one that works !!! i had one of these before, and it was pretty knackered when i got it and eventually it just gave up the ghost. however...it sounded great. so i chanced my arm and when one turned up on ebay i went for it. and this one sounds better than i remembered i put a lower gain valve in and it's just amazing. it can add a bit of warmth or some nice 'on the edge' overdrive sounds. top stuff ! Musky
Lovely stuff. Lots of marvellous creamy distortion. Did you get the rack or pedal version? Much as I dislike racks mounted effects, the Blue Tube rack does have a rather fantastic bias control which lets you change the actual character of the distortion. If only they'd bunged it on the pedal version as well
ahpook
mine's the pedal version...which although i'm very happy with, the bias control would be nice

I've got the Tube Driver in pedal form and that's really nice, but has too much distortion on tap for my purposes - I had to keep it at the lower drive settings. The Blue tube is much more flexible with a better bottom end. Just a shame my rack model doesn't get as much use as it should because I can't be bothered to lug it around to gigs. It really is my own personal overdrive nirvana.
ahpook
i had a dean markley overlord for a while (before it fell apart !)...which i think was a version of the tube driver. ok...but too much distortion. blue tube's the way to go.
